Camo and Lace

I've been seeing a lot of camouflage fashion in magazines and blogs, but camo and lace together? The juxtaposition of lace and camouflage...the dichotomy of the feminine lace and the military-inspired camo -- just couldn't resist it when I saw this infinity scarf online at Nordstrom's juniors' accessories.

I love wearing scarves so I've been trying to increase my repertoire of scarf ties by watching videos and looking at pictures. Below is one of my new favorite ties, using an Ann Taylor scarf.
The navy and orange scarf below from Banana Republic gets wrapped easily around the neck and the ends drape over the front.
This is not a hard one to do (below); it's just hard to see what I've done. Moral of the story is use a different scarf to demonstrate this tie and put it against another color! I included it just because I love the color orange and the white birds flying all over the Norstrom's scarf.
Another Banana Republic scarf (yes, it's the same pattern as the orange and navy one but I so liked the colors that I had to get this one, too) in one of my favorite ties.

My plan is to try a new way each time I wear a scarf and maybe with a bit of practice, I'll have several more in my skills set.  With the weather the way it's been across the country, I think we'll have at least several more weeks of scarf-wearing weather.

    I just love love love the neutral tones in the top outfit so much!! I wish that jacket was still available but just today I've found one at Nordstrom I just may go back and check out. You look great!

      Thank you. I pretty much always wear this lipstick color -- wouldn't be me without it. Plays havoc with some colors though!

      Thank you. I like the Ann Taylor scarf, too. I think I'll be able to wear it into spring because of its lightweight fabric.

    The scarf with the lace is amazing. The complete outfit with these beautiful boots, the bag and the jacket is perfect. I have a nearly similar jacket somewhere in my wardrobe, you inspired my to find it.

      Thanks, Alyssa. You're definitely not too old for any camo look! You look incredibly youthful (even though your blog has the word "midlife" in it) so you don't need to worry about age appropriateness just yet :)

    Heather, which method did you use to tie the orange scarf? It really looks pretty as do all the others. I love, love scarves!

    You have inspired me on the lace and camo. I just ordered some camo jeans (not really camo, it has a floral, but it is called camo.) and I will combine it with lace due to your inspiration.

      Hi Debbi, I'm going to have to watch the video again to see which tie inspired me for the orange scarf. It was one that ended up tying one point of the scarf to the opposite corner (and I probably mixed in some random thought on my own there, too). Can't wait to see your floral camo jeans!
